Kite-surfing is an increasing popular sport in St. Barth, especially during the period of the Alizés wind. The kite-surfing school, 7ème Ciel, offers private lessons with certified instructors.
Fly-boarding, windsurfing and swimming lessons can also be arranged.
Le Guanahani offers a world of fun and entertainment for kids of all ages. The resort’s Kid’s Club is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Participation is complimentary for children between ages two and six years (must be potty-trained). Daily activities offer a taste of French culture through interactive engagements and games. A complimentary Juniors Club program, featuring indoor and outdoor activities, is offered daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for kids six to 12 years old. Reservations are required. Lunch is offered at Indigo when accompanied by a counselor. Activities are adapted on a daily basis according to the ages, preferences and number of children attending. Counselors speak French and English. Babysitting services can be arranged through the concierge with 24-hour notice.
Two flood-lit tennis courts are available for use by up to four players each and can be reserved in advance. The upper tennis court is surfaced with agile turf, a sand-filled artificial grass. The lower court is surfaced with classic clay combining synthetic grass fibers and graded material infill. Tennis racquets and balls are provided. Discover the island of St. Barth from a new vantage point under the lead of a local expert. Guided hiking excursions provide access to exceptional sites on the island. There are 15 paths, of varying length and difficulty, through gorgeous natural environments complete with rare plants and wildlife, some of which are available only with a guide.
Le Guanahani features a self-guided hiking path that winds through the peninsula which can be accessed directly from the hotel.
Deep-sea fishing trips, which depart directly from the hotel, can be arranged. Out at sea, the hotel’s resident fisherman demonstrates a variety of fishing techniques, and one can even complete the experience with the hotel’s Cook Your Catch program, in which the day’s haul is cooked to order by one of the hotel’s chefs.
Boating excursions departing from Le Guanahani’s beach are provided on the hotel’s Sacs 42’ speed boat. Picnic lunches can be arranged with the hotel’s chef.
Also departing direct from the hotel, jet ski tours—offered in 30-minute, one-hour and around-the-island varieties—are a fabulous way to tour St. Barth from the sea and explore some of its finest beaches.
Single- and double-tank diving excursions depart from the hotel’s beach or from the harbor in Gustavia. Within sites in the Caribbean or Atlantic waters off St. Barth, dive options include reef diving, deep diving, night diving, wreck diving and customized diving. The diving school is certified PADI, CMAS and FFESSM, and beginner lessons are administered in a swimming pool and/or in the lagoon.
Offered at St. Jean Bay each afternoon (weather permitting), this fun activity provides a swift and inventive way in which to explore the island’s fascinating underwater landscape.
Children and adults alike enjoy exploring the marine life within the natural reserves of St. Barth from the comfort and security of the Yellow Submarine. The tour offers wonderful aquatic views and allows passengers to see the wreckage of a fishing vessel that lies beneath the sea.
